Two Decades in Marketing: Slice Consulting Celebrates 20 Years of Growth and Innovation.

In 2025, Slice Consulting marks a significant milestone: its 20th anniversary. In 2005, young economist Nane Matevossyan embarked on her professional journey in a field that was still relatively unknown in Armenia. The story of Slice Consulting demonstrates how a young woman's single idea, driven by hard work, perseverance, and the desire to create a positive impact in her home country, transformed into a thriving business.

From Student to Entrepreneur: Nane’s Vision

While studying at Yerevan State University's Faculty of Economics, Nane explored different career paths. Even as a student, she was drawn to marketing—a field then undervalued in Armenia’s business landscape. At the time, most business owners were unaware of marketing’s potential for driving growth and success. Nane approached various companies, and in her job interviews, she introduced innovative marketing strategies to company leaders. She proposed working based on performance, asking for only a 10% share of any increased revenue her strategies would generate. Eventually, her ideas resonated with entrepreneurs, who agreed to try this novel approach. Thus, Nane became an independent marketing consultant, setting the stage for her future as an industry leader.

Marketing Education as a Tool for Industry Advancement: The Birth of Slice Academy.

After two years as a marketing consultant, Nane recognized the industry’s professional knowledge gap, which impacted both her services and the broader market. Determined to elevate her expertise and the quality of Armenian marketing, she founded a professional training school in 2007. Here, company clients and employees, as well as other aspiring marketers, could develop essential skills, transition to a new career, and secure employment in the field. Slice Academy thus became a bridge between industry needs and the talent needed to fill those gaps.

Equipped with an MBA from the Swiss Business School and a solid marketing background, Nane expanded her services to a growing clientele. She also enhanced the educational side of her business by recruiting specialized trainers and began teaching at both Yerevan State University and later, at the Slavonic University. Slice Academy’s educational reputation continued to grow, and the company took on a critical role in nurturing a new generation of marketers.

Today, Slice Academy strives to deliver high-quality, accessible education through group and corporate training programs. Signature offerings include the Weekend School of Marketing, Weekend School of Business, Digital Marketing Session, and IT Project Management, each tailored to meet diverse learning needs and professional ambitions.
